Historically CO2 lasers have been the gold standard for collagen remodeling, wrinkle or scar reduction, and skin tightening. CO2 laser treatments are still great for the appropriate candidates. But the challenge with CO2 is that the treatment is limited to lighter skin types, it has unacceptably long difficult down-times of swelling, blistering, oozing, and there is the potential risk of hyper- and hypo-pigmentation.
